"Yuri Kogen Railway" operates the Chokai Sanroku Line, which is approximately 23km long in Akita Prefecture. The sacred mountain Mt. Chokai is a 2,236m active volcano with a beautiful, majestic appearance, and the Obako-go runs along its base, allowing you to enjoy a leisurely train journey while enjoying the scenery of each season. At Maego Station, which is popular among train fans, a rare "tablet exchange" is held where you can watch trains passing each other.

A Scenic Ride Through Tranquil Countryside on the Obako Train

Enjoy a journey on the "Obako train," which runs through peaceful countryside with views of Mt. Chokai. Flight attendants dressed as 'Akita Obako' in kasuri kimono (ikat-woven kimono with blurred dye patterns) offer tourist information in the Akita dialect and sell railway goods. Various on-board events are also held.
