Six Baths Surrounded by the Scenic Beauty of Tsunan
This Japanese-style inn stands along the gently flowing Shinano-gawa River. Warm hospitality creates an atmosphere reminiscent of returning home. The baths offer views of seasonal scenery, from autumn foliage to winter snowscapes, while the open-air bath provides a setting to soak in the fresh air. Two bathing areas are alternated between men and women in the morning and evening, allowing a one-night stay to include visits to six different tubs. Stretching out while overlooking the landscape of Tsunan offers a restorative pause during the journey.

Guest Room

Guest Rooms Framing Tsunan’s Seasonal Landscape

Guest rooms offer a relaxed setting with views of Tsunan’s natural scenery, where the changing seasons can be appreciated. The recommended room with an open-air bath, "Karin," provides a private experience of the surrounding landscape and its golden-hued waters from the tub.

Popular Handmade "Pressed Flower Art"

Each guest room is named after a flower, and beside each entrance is displayed handmade pressed-flower art created by the inn’s “great-grandmother.” Approximately 140 pieces of this pressed-flower artwork are exhibited throughout the property and are well regarded for their aesthetic appeal.

Spa

"Chikuma no Yu" With Tsunan Nature and Golden Hot Springs

The two bathing areas, "Chikuma no Yu" and "Shinano no Yu," each feature an indoor bath, an open-air bath, and a private one-person barrel bath with free-flowing hot spring water from the source. The baths are alternated between men and women in the morning and evening, allowing a total of six different tubs to be experienced during a stay.

River Sounds and Hot Springs at "Shinano no Yu"

Located on the top floor, the large public bath "Shinano no Yu" offers views of Tsunan’s natural landscape stretching out before it. The golden-hued hot spring water, reminiscent of karin fruit, leaves the skin feeling smooth and provides a soothing bathing experience.

"Hotaru no Yu" Private Bath for a Quiet Soak

For guests seeking a more private bathing experience, the scenic private bath "Hotaru no Yu" is available for a fee. The setting suits couples, spouses, or families wishing to spend unhurried time together in a relaxed atmosphere.

After-Bath Lounge "Sanyaso"

After unwinding in the bath, the post-bathing lounge "Sanyaso" offers a place to rest. While cooling down, the view from the windows provides a calm setting for relaxation.

Cuisine

Dining Featuring Traditional Tsunan Cuisine

Meals feature Echigo mountain and sea cuisine along with Tsunan’s local specialties, with an array of handmade items such as fresh juices, the specialty “Grandmother’s Koi Koku” carp stew, and house-grown Koshihikari rice. The menu changes every two months, highlighting seasonal ingredients.

Local Sake From Japan's Renowned Rice-Growing Region

As a member of the "Niigata Local Sake Inn" association, "Yukiguni" serves Niigata’s locally brewed sake to complement its cuisine. The limited-edition "Naebasan," created in collaboration between the Tsunan Ryokan Association and Naeba Brewery, is also available. This junmai daiginjo offers its distinctive ginjo aroma.

The Four Seasons of Tsunan Through Local Cuisine

The menu changes once every two months to showcase seasonal ingredients from Tsunan, offering a dining experience that reflects the seasons through presentation, flavor, and aroma. Guests traveling with children are served dinner in a private tatami room, providing a relaxed setting for the meal.

Location

The Magical Glow of Fireflies

Each year from around mid-June, a seasonal firefly-viewing tour is offered for a limited time during the summer. Complimentary shuttle service from the hotel makes participation convenient, while the gentle glow of the fireflies creates an enchanting atmosphere that transforms the evening into a memorable experience.

Scenic Views at "Tsunan Sunflower Field"

From late July through approximately one month thereafter, this scenic spot is filled with sunflowers blooming across expansive fields under the summer sun. A permanent observation deck overlooks the sunflower fields, offering sweeping views of this iconic seasonal landscape.
