Artisan Confectionery Crafted by a Shop with Over 400 Years of History
Founded in 1604 as an inn and later operating as a tea wholesaler since 1874, this long-established business carries forward a tradition centered on a spirit of harmony. It preserves the culture of tea, Japanese sweets, and tea service, using pure spring water from Azumino in Shinshu—fed by snowmelt from the Northern Alps—to bring out clean, refined flavors. Each product is carefully crafted by artisans, from ingredient selection to preparation, offering not only tea but also a thoughtfully curated experience of time and space. A range of items suited to various occasions, from gifts to tea time, is available, including a selection of Japanese sweets well-suited for gifting.
Hand Shaped Sweets Created with Precision and Care
Seasonal fresh wagashi, crafted one by one with careful attention by skilled artisans, are known for their refined appearance that reflects the changing seasons. Each piece balances delicate artistry that captures seasonal color and atmosphere with a gentle, elegant sweetness, best appreciated alongside tea in a composed moment.
Melting Texture Paired with Fragrant Green Tea Flavor
The popular "Melting Nama Daifuku" features a rich flavor made with generous amounts of Uji matcha. Smooth cream is wrapped in a soft, thin layer of mochi, creating a delicate, melt-in-the-mouth texture. In addition to matcha, a variety of seasonal flavors is available, offering a range of tastes that change throughout the year.
