An Inn Where You Can Enjoy Kyoto Cuisine While Looking Out Over the Uji River
Hanayashiki Ukifune-en is a traditional Japanese inn with the Uji River flowing right in front of it and it is just a two-minute walk from Tonoshima Island in Nakasu. All rooms are on the waterfront, so you can enjoy the scenery that changes with the seasons from your room. The inn is also popular for its authentic Kyoto kaiseki cuisine made with seasonal ingredients, which can be enjoyed while looking out over the Uji River. There are many historical sites and buildings in the area, including the Byodoin Phoenix Hall, a national treasure and World Heritage Site, which is just a five-minute walk away, and Ujikami Shrine, said to be the oldest surviving shrine building, which is just an 11-minute walk away. The inn is within walking distance of tourist attractions and is just a 17-minute drive from Kyoto Station, making it the perfect base for sightseeing.
